PoST combines Proof-of-Space (disk storage) with Verifiable Delay Functions (time). Farmers prove they have disk space allocated, and VDFs ensure blocks are produced at predictable intervals, preventing spam and nothing-at-stake attacks.
While both use Proof-of-Space, Archivas uses SHA-256 VDFs (simpler, more auditable), has deterministic genesis (fully reproducible), focuses on developer simplicity (Go monorepo), targets 20-30s block times, and is designed for smart contracts from day 1.
Minimum: 2 CPU cores, 8GB RAM, 100GB free disk space, 10 Mbps internet. Recommended: 4+ CPU cores, 16GB RAM, 1TB+ SSD (for k=30 plots), 100 Mbps internet.
